The City of Tshwane is pleased to announce that the second pump at Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant (WTP) that was taken for repairs at the weekend has been returned and started running from the early hours of this morning. The system was manipulated to push more water to Ekandustria Reservoir that supplies Ekangala and other surrounding high-lying areas.
The reservoir is filling up and low-lying areas will gradually begin to receive water. When the reservoir level increases, supply will be restored to high-lying areas.
Residents in the high-lying areas of Rethabiseng, Ekandustria and Ekangala experienced water supply challenges at the weekend after a pump broke at Bronkhorstspruit WTP and was taken for repairs. Water tankers were dispatched to the affected areas to ensure a continuous supply of water.
The City wishes to apologise once more to the affected residents for the inconvenience endured and expresses gratitude for their patience.
