The City of Tshwane is conducting a water meter audit drive in Hammanskraal.
This follows the recent launch of the Magalies Water Package Plant project, which aims to ensure clean water supply to the residents of Hammanskraal by September 2024.
City officials will audit all affected areas within Hammanskraal by 31 July 2024. Following the auditing process, water meter replacements and new water meter installations will begin and be completed by 30 September 2024.
As part of the meter audit process, City officials and contracted service providers will also collect data in the area. This will involve activities such as opening and closing water taps, recording water meter numbers and readings, and confirming physical street addresses.
The City calls on Hammanskraal residents to please cooperate with officials and service providers during the audit process. It is essential for residents to allow officials access to their yards for the necessary inspections. A successful audit will ensure that the City’s water systems are prepared to receive and supply water to the affected areas in Hammanskraal.
The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Nasiphi Moya, and the MMC for Utilities and Regional Operations and Coordination, Cllr Themba Fosi, will conduct oversight over the meter auditing process to ensure safe and metered drinking tap water for the people of Hammanskraal.
To confirm the identities of the officials and service providers doing the audits, residents can contact the City of Tshwane on 012 358 9062.
