Earlier today, the Human Settlements Department handed out 180 title deeds to beneficiaries of Soshanguve Ext 10 township.
The township comprises 1 887 stands where 1 002 title deeds are already registered. A total of 822 title deeds have already been issued to the homeowners with a further 180 being handed over today.
The City has prioritised the handing out of title deeds as we recognise the importance of giving ownership rights to beneficiaries. This not only returns dignity to our communities but also gives power to individuals by providing security of tenure and a legacy for future generations.
The Human Settlements Department has a significant number of title deeds that we will be handing out to beneficiaries around Tshwane in areas such as Atteridgeville, Eersterust, Wolmer and others in the coming week.
We wish to use this opportunity to request all residents who have not yet claimed their title deeds to come forward and do so.
We remain committed to issuing as many title deeds as possible when they become available as we endeavour to become a City that works for all its people.
