The City of Tshwane, in collaboration with the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), hosted an Entrepreneurship Day in Hammanskraal, showcasing our commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth within townships.

The event, which commenced on Friday, 17 November 2023, was a resounding success, featuring a seminar attended by 110 entrepreneurs and aspirant entrepreneurs. The seminar aimed to equip aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with valuable knowledge, insights and resources to help them thrive in their respective industries. Participants had the opportunity to learn from industry experts, engage in interactive sessions and gain the practical skills necessary for business development and growth.

The seminar was followed by a colourful pop-up market in Hammanskraal Stadium on 18 November 2023, transforming the stadium into a busy hub of entrepreneurial activity. We were happy to give a venue for 44 local small, medium and micro-sized enterprises (SMMEs) to show and sell their distinctive products to a willing audience. The pop-up market provided these SMMEs with not just direct sales but also publicity, brand awareness and crucial contacts within the community.

By leveraging the long-standing partnership between SEDA and the City of Tshwane, these collaborative efforts can create a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, promote economic growth and empower aspiring and existing entrepreneurs in the region. It is through events like the Entrepreneurship Day that we strive to celebrate the resilience, ingenuity and contributions of our local businesses, while also fostering an environment conducive to their growth and success.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all the role players, participants and partners who made this event possible. We also extend our appreciation to the community of Hammanskraal for their support and engagement throughout the event.
